All Or Nothing
A few months ago, Baseball America and ESPN.com joined up to give ESPN Insider members exclusive articles and info on players around the minors. Among others, Craig Brazell is mentioned in this week's "Around The Minors" column by Chris Kline:
Triple-A Norfolk first baseman Craig Brazell is leading the International League in homers with nine. The lefthanded hitter is batting .289-9-20 despite continuing his career-long lack of discipline at the plate. Brazell, who also is mixing in some outfield play this season, takes big swings early in the count, allowing pitchers to get ahead of him. He has struck out in bunches in the past and already has 21 (with just three walks) in 83 at-bats this season.For those of you who are Insider members, the entire article can be found here.

It's funny, because Jeremy and I were discussing Brazell a few days ago. I personally love the guy, man does he have some pop, but yes, he lacks all indications of any plate control whatsoever.
He reminds me a lot of Mark "Dartmouth" Johnson. I don't think that's good.

His stats make him a fun guy to follow, but guys like Brazell (like Rob Stratton) continue to strike out in bunches when they get called up, but tend to lose the propensity for hitting the long ball. He'd be worth a September callup just to watch.
