Kazmir On The Way Out?
Rumors still abound regarding prized pitching prospect Scott Kazmir being dealt to Tampa Bay for the talented but erratic Victor Zambrano. If the Mets wouldn't trade him for Alfonso Soriano, why they would ship him out for Zambrano is unknown.
If that wasn't disturbing enough, the
Newark Star Ledger reports that Mets superscout Al Goldis was in Houston this week with an eye on struggling Astros pitcher Tim Redding. The article mentions Kazmir as the return party in such a deal, which makes me a little queazy. It's probably all hogwash, but the article indicates that the Mets have recently soured on Kazmir's durability and attitude. Apparently his 1.73 ERA and 29/9 K/BB ratio in 27 AA innings isn't enough to keep him out of the Mets doghouse.
