Rick Peterson Absurd Quote-Of-The-Day
From this morning's Daily News, Rick Peterson regarding Victor Zambrano's nerves as he makes his Mets debut in Milwaukee tonight:
"There's nothing wrong with having butterflies. Tom Glavine had butterflies on Opening Day. The key is to keep them flying in formation toward the catcher's mitt."Fabulous.

How about a little openness to a guy speaking poetically (isn't it obvious what he means? That Zambrano can harness the butterflies instead of being overcome by them?) instead of ripping him? This website is supposed to be intellectual, not just derisive: do you want Peterson to just spout cliches? I for one am refreshed by his out-of- the-box thinking and expression. Lay off Mets fans! Peterson's record speaks for itself and we're lucky to have him. Don't rip him! And for that matter, fans, don't take out your frustrations over Kazmir on Zambrano; this is clearly a talented pitcher and he's ours now, show him some support and maybe he'll actually get better!
