ESPN.com Love
The Mets get some much-deserved and long-awaited love at ESPN.com today. First, on Jayson Stark's Top-10 Most Improved Teams list, the Mets clock in at #1:
For 194 million bucks, you could buy 19 million pastrami sandwiches at the Stage Deli -- or Carlos Beltran, Pedro Martinez and Kris Benson. The Mets gave their frazzled fans something to chew on with the three most staggering free-agent contracts of the winter. It might not put them in the playoffs. But at least, it put them back on New York's radar screen.Peter Gammons also heaps on the praise in his latest column. Most of the writing on ESPN.com is complete crap, but it's still fun to read nice things about your favorite team.
