Spring Training Open Thread

This is an open thread for anyone to talk about Spring Training thus far. What is everyone's favorite story or moment of the first eight days of the real Spring?

A seemingly healthy Jose Reyes. The additions of Pedro and Beltran are great. The bullpen may have some issues. But I think the key to this team is Jose Reyes. He needs to stay healthy. And if he does, he will be the spark and positive energy for the entire team. I love Reyes. I just hope he stays healthy.

I'm with you on that, John. I really love seeing Pedro Martinez having a good time and fitting in really well with the team. He's still such a fantastic pitcher, he's going to help A LOT.

I also like seeing Carlos Beltran take David Wright and Jose Reyes under his wing. It's a classy, leadership-type move, and it sets a really great example.

TGIB. Thank God It's Baseball.

Beyond that, let's see. Good off-season acquisitions. Healthy players. Optimism. Real honest-to-God optimism that might last into September. First time for that in 5 years.

Couple concerns: Bullpen. How do we keep these guys healthy over 162 games, particularly Piazza, Floyd, and Reyes? Martinez re-adjusting to NL batting. Was Pedro's last season an anomaly or him aging rapidly?

Fingers are crossed. Let's play two!

I agree with the injury concerns and the pen, but for Pedro, I think NL batting is going to have to re-adjust to him. Not the other way around. If Pedro makes 30 or more starts, he will win the Cy Young.

My fingers are crossed as well and I cannot wait another five weeks for the start of the season.
